DAY 15 IN ECUADOR!

Hello guys, Amanda here to tell you about our last day in San Cristobal!

Today we had a wonderful last day in San Cristobal. We began our day by enjoying the tasteful breakfast prepared by our host mom at the hotel. She never fails to make me excited to find out what we have for breakfast. After, we headed to the main pier where we surveyed all day. Hearing personal stories from residents has been such a pleasure this trip. Today I had a very sweet lady tell me that she is so happy to see us out in the community surveying and taking the time to talk to the locals and hear what they have to say regarding animal life, healthcare accessibility and even what day to day life looks like. This was very refreshing to hear and gave me an extra boost to ask more people to take our survey. We also had a few people ask us about the research project as they were interested in doing their own research on the island. They wanted to hear more from us as well as share about their time on the island so far.

Today was a very bittersweet day as we had to say goodbye to this amazing island that welcomed us with open arms and treated us very nicely. We are so grateful to have met such kind hearted people on this island and for the yummy food we had every single meal without fail. We cannot wait to see and explore the other islands.
