Day 4 in Ecuador!

 Hey y'all it's Brian!

We started the day with our final lectures in USFQ which meant our final day of Spanish :(. Following Spanish, we were informed on the uses of water and the challenges it holds in Ecuador through a one health approach. Having an understanding of aquatic ecosystems, the water availability amongst different regions in Ecuador, and the services water provides all throughout the country were the fundamental points and how our efforts, either good or bad, contribute to how water is distributed to animals, the ecosystem, and ourselves.

To continue this one health approach, we had the opportunity to tour the Tueri Wildlife Hospital that aims to educate and assist in the conservation of wildlife and nature. After this tour, we had another tour ready for us at SIME Hospital. Having two viewpoints through an animal and human hospital brought the attention of how important both animal and human lives are as we both live side by side, supporting each other even when it is not noticed.  After the tours, we grabbed lunch at USFQ and had one more conversation with Jonathan Guillemot to finalize our topic of one health, where our thoughts and ideas were pushed to find our understanding of one health where we can apply our ideas to the areas of Quito and soon, the Galapagos Islands.

After another long day, we explored the nearby shopping center and had to try Juan Valdez Coffee Shop before heading back and preparing for the next day!

See y'all soon!!
