Day 27 in Ecuador!
Hey y'all it's Brian!
Our last day in the Galapagos is here :(. We started with breakfast at the hotel before taking a bus with to Los Gemelos which are twin craters while being guided by Rafa once again! Los Gemelos were made by magma flow that when hardened over time, some areas became unstable and these unstable areas collapsed and formed the two craters that look similar to each other. After a half mile loop of looking at Los Gemelos, we took our bus to our next destination, El Chato Ranch.
When arriving to El Chato Ranch, you can see tortoises from every direction as the ranch and surrounding area has around 12,000-15,000 tortoises, the most in any concentrated area within the islands. Being able to watch the tortoises roam around one last time really summarizes how The Galapagos works alongside the nature and wildlife it’s gifted with to both preserve and establish a coexistence for mutual benefits. After a relaxing lunch at the ranch, we took a bus back to the hotel where we would do some last minute shopping before getting ready for dinner. The restaurant for dinner was at Bahia Mar, where we had our first dinner when arriving to Santa Cruz. The food was just as good as when we ate it the first night which brought us a bit of sadness as our journey was coming to an end. We reflected through all we’ve gone through during dinner, whether it was good or bad memories, they were our memories from our times in the islands that will be held for a lifetime. After dinner, we returned to the hotel to pack all of belongings to begin our travel back home.
This has truly been a once in a lifetime experience and I’m glad we were able to share our experiences together!
