Day 14 in Galapagos!

Hola and happy Monday! Today we started off our morning with a delicious breakfast consisting of bread, eggs, and fruit. Some of us then split off to drop off our laundry at the local lavandería. We departed from the hostel around 10 this morning and took a 30 minute bus ride to a giant tortoise breeding center, where we got to see giant tortoises ranging from only a few years old to up to 80 years old!. Next, we headed to a nearby beach and enjoyed a short hike and some time in the sun. We were getting hungry, so we headed to Otay for yet another delicious meal of chicken, rice, beans, yucca, and a ton of ahi sauce. Some of us then took a short nature walk, where we got to see a bunch of fruits being grown. With full tummies, we departed the lunch spot and drove to El Junco, which is the Galapagos’s only permanent fresh water lake. The hike was steep, but well worth it! We then came back to the hostel, chilled, and ate dinner. We’re looking forward to our last day in San Cristobal tomorrow!

Adios,

Julianne
