Day 25 in Ecuador!
Great news, everyone- we finished getting our surveys in! We surpassed our goal of 1,650, and I think we're all thrilled to be done. It was harder than we all anticipated (Mainly because most of us don't speak much Spanish and because we could only run 2 or 3 at a time, each), but we finished a week before the end of our trip. It'll be smooth sailing from here! Our research will be presented as an exhibit at the Mayborn Museum on Baylor's campus later on- be sure to visit that, if you can.
We woke up extremely early and headed back from Isabela to Santa Cruz on a ferry, then settled into our hotel rooms and rested a bit. After that, we went out to lunch, surveyed, got dinner at a local restaurant, and went to the grocery store to get snacks for tomorrow! It'll be at Tortuga Bay, a gorgeous beach with small sharks (Which we all love here- who doesn't?) and many different species of birds. We'll let you know how it goes!
