Day 12 San Cristobal
Hey Yall,
Today we
woke up and had eggs and toast at Cann's house then headed out for a long day
of surveying. We were still down one of our Spanish speakers since Alex was
still recovering from her clinic trip from the day before. The day was so hot
as the sun was beating down on us even at 9:30 in the morning. surveys started
out strongly with Dylan and I got a full page of surveys done before 11:00.
Four of us, including Dr. M, stayed on the sea wall while a group of three went
to survey people down at the university. After a few Hours of surveying we
decided to break for lunch and go eat at Lucky’s we had chicken soup with toes
in it as well as shepherd's pie and barbecued chicken. Then we went back out to
survey along the seawall and there was absolutely nobody Out and about. So ella
and doctor M and I went to a local coffee shop called Ranti’s where Ella and I
got a Dolce de leche coffee and doctor M got a delicious pistachio latte. After
we finished our coffees, we decided to join the group where we stayed till
about 3:30 and then decided to head back as there still was nobody willing to
take surveys. He then hung around at CANN's house for a little while Ella made
a reservation at Midori’s for sushi. One of our girls decided to go to USFQ’s
yoga day where they started at the very top floor of the hotel right next to
the giant lobster by the local fisherman's pier she described being able to
hear the sea lions barking and being able to watch the sunset the whole time
and being extremely relaxed she described a mix of stretching sitting breathing
and warming up their muscles and then ending with a wind down of more breathing.
After dinner at Midori’s, we looked for baby sea lions in one of the tide pools
and walked down the seawall for a little bit and then decided to head back for
an early night in.
