Day 4 in Quito
Hi! Today was very eventful and we got to do some awesome sightseeing! We woke up and ate breakfast in the morning and then got onto a bus to take us down to the equator line, which also had a museum. We took a tour of the museum and got to do some fun experiments allowing us to feel the effects of the equator. Did you know that you are 2 pounds lighter on the equator? I feel like I could tell that the weight of my body felt different. After that, we got back on the bus and went to a local restaurant where they served some of us cuy (guinea pig), in which I did not partake… After that short break, we got back onto the bus where we saw the Virgin Mary with angel wing’s statue and a beautiful mountaintop view of Quito. We were served a great lunch downtown, we walked around the city, indulged in Ecuadorian chocolate on a guided tour, and walked through a stunning Catholic Church. After our sightseeing, we went to a local market place to buy souvenirs. All of us were very successful and even worked on our haggling in Spanish! We walked to dinner at Paseo Gourmet, which was so good, and then we walked back to our hotel and went to bed after our long day!
Adios!
