Day 26 on Santa Cruz!

 ¡Buenas! 

We woke up bright and early this morning and hustled down to breakfast at 8 am. It was a delicious spread as always with eggs, fresh fruit, baked goods, and most importantly, coffee. We then got ready to embark on our morning adventure. As a group, we walked down to the pier to board a water taxi that would take us to Las Grietas. Las Grietas is a breathtaking natural swimming hole and volcanic fissure in Santa Cruz. After a 10-minute hike, we arrived at a spot where we could cool off in the crystal-clear water. We only had 45 minutes to explore the wonders of Las Grietas, but we made the most of it, taking in the beauty of the lava rock formations all around us. After our time was up, we walked back towards the water taxis but took a pit stop for an hour at Playa los alemanes, which is an iconic beach here. We did a bit of swimming and tanning, and once we felt we were sizzling under the sun, we decided to head to the taxis. After getting back to the pier, we dropped our stuff off at the hotel and went straight to the local street of kiosks to have some lunch. We got a great $6 deal for lunch that came with soup, fresh juice, and a main course. After lunch, we made our way back to the hotel to have a restful and relaxing afternoon. Some of us took naps by the pool where everyone can see... and take pictures (Sorry Dylan). Before dinner we decided to take a nice stroll along the boardwalk to stretch our legs. We then made our way back to the hotel for movie night! We had some delicious empanadas while watching The Princess Bride. A cinematic classic. After our mouthwatering empanadas and top-tier movie, we headed to bed to get a good night’s rest before our beach day tomorrow.
